Which Shopify Theme Should You Use?
Hey! Welcome back to Brand Building With Nicholas. This week I’m diving in my favorite Shopify themes and why they can be a great fit for your brand.
2025 is almost here and if you’re planning to revamp your Shopify store, it’s time to start looking towards the new year.
Whenever we speak with a brand looking to build their Shopify store, one of the first questions most of they ask is, “what Shopify store should I use for my brand?”
There are currently 217 themes on the Shopify theme store so finding the perfect theme can be overwhelming!
Of those 217, 13 of them are free while 204 of them are paid, costing anywhere from $100-$500+.
Picking the right theme for your store is a huge decision and should be made with care since your website is literally the core of your business online. Especially in ecommerce, your website can be a make or break for your brand.
After testing most of the themes on the theme store since 2017, we’ve been able to narrow down our list of favorite themes to our top six!

Concept: As one of the top rated Shopify themes, Concept is incredibly powerful and is versatile enough for almost any brand. With it’s striking text sections, sleek interactions, and streamlined mobile sections, it’s no wonder that Concept is one of the top rated Shopify themes. Plus, if you’re looking to share lots of video throughout your store, Concept has numerous native video sections to work with.

Aurora: If you’re looking for an image and video heavy theme with sleek, minimalist test sections, Aurora is a great option. Out of the box, Aurora is built for fashion brands with a sleek buy box and highly visual sections that let the products speak for themselves.

Fame: For more abstract branding and styles, Fame is a great option that’s highly buildable and customizable. With lots of animation and big text sections, Fame is a great theme for building unique stores with high engagement.

Local: Local is perhaps the best Shopify theme for food brands since its sections are built specifically to share nutritional information and local availability. Local also incorporates numerous sections with built-in icons for different food types to help users find the best products for them as well. Lastly, the product pages offer native nutritional facts and upsells to make for a sleek buying experience.
